　　新元文明，二百五十三年，犯罪率升高是否与“零度共情者”相关，正成为这个社会越来越让人瞩目的话题。一起送货员被谋杀案牵扯出了一个犯罪团伙，而真凶被确定为最能引起社会讨论的“零度共情者”，案子虽然顺利结束了，但负责该起案件的特调组探员骆为昭（付辛博 饰）却意识到一切并没有表面看起来这么简单。之后人口失踪案、富豪车祸案、走失大学生遇害案，一个个“零度共情者”被推到公众面前，骆为昭意识到除了这些被推出来的凶手外，实习探员裴溯（张新成 饰）似乎也牵扯其中，几起案件背后还另有其人在穿针引线。最后这些犯罪势力被一网打尽，公众也意识到基因决定不了一个人的优劣、善恶，人可以战胜基因，人可以自由选择，只要心存希望之光，哪怕身处黑暗，也终有一天会回到阳光之下。
